The phrase "Bismillah" (بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ) holds profound significance in Islam. It translates to "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" and is recited by Muslims before beginning any task or activity. This invocation serves as a reminder of Allah's presence and blessings, fostering mindfulness and spiritual connection. By saying "Bismillah," Muslims seek Allah's guidance, protection, and support, acknowledging His supreme power and mercy. This practice not only strengthens faith but also instills a sense of purpose and humility, encouraging believers to start their endeavors with a pure heart and righteous intentions.
Every Good action or deed should be started with reciting Bismillah,
Say Bismillah Before Starting Eating:Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When any of you wants to eat, he should mention the Name of Allah in the begining, (i.e., say Bismillah). If he forgets to do it in the beginning, he should say Bismillah awwalahu wa akhirahu (I begin with the Name of Allah at the beginning and at the end)." [At-Tirmidhi and
'Umar bin Abu Salamah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I was a boy under the care of Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and as my hand used to wander around in the dish, he ﷺ said to me once, "Mention Allah's Name (ie, say Bismillah), eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
The Importance of Saying Bismillah when eating
'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When any of you wants to eat, he should mention the Name of Allah in the beginning , (ie, say Bismillah). If he forgets to do it in the beginning, he should say Bismillah awwalahu wa akhirahu (I begin with the Name of Allah at the beginning and at the end)". At-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud.
(Riyad as-Salihin 728 (Book 2, Hadith 2) #37217)
Narrated Umm Kulthum: From 'Aishah that the
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you eats food, then let him
say: 'Bismillah'. If he forgets in the beginning, then let him say:
'Bismillah Fi Awwalihi Wa Akhirih (In the Name of Allah in its
beginning and its end)"

The Power of Mentioning Allah's Name
Umaiyyah bin Makhshi (May Allah be pleased with him)
reported: Messenger of Allah ﷺ was
sitting while a man was eating food. That man did not mention the Name of Allah
(before commencing to eat) till only a morsel of food was left. When he
raised it to his mouth, he said: "Bismillah awwalahu wa
akhirahu (With the Name of Allah, in the beginning and in the end)".
Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled
at this and said, "Satan had been eating with him but when he mentioned
the Name of Allah, Satan vomited all that was in his stomach". Abu
Dawud and An-Nasa'i.

It was narrated that ‘Uthman bin Abul-‘As Thaqafi said: It
was narrated that 'Uthman bin Abul-'As Thaqafi said: "I came to the
Prophet ﷺ and I was suffering

wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru. (In the Name of Allah, I seek
refuge in the might and power of Allah from the evil of what I feel and what I
fear)," seven times. I said that, and Allah healed me".

Remembering Allah When Drinking
Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not drink in one gulp like a camel,
but in two or three (gulps). Mention the Name of Allah (ie, say Bismillah)
when you start drinking and praise Him (ie, say Al-hamdu lillah) after you have
finished (drinking)". At- Tirmidhi.

Protection from Jinns with Bismillah
Ali bin Abi Talid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated
that : the Messenger of Allah said: "The screen between the eyes

The Power of Prayer Before Intimacy
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: Allah's
Messenger ﷺ said,
"If anyone of you, when intending to have a sexual relation (sleep) with
his wife, says: Bismillah, Allahumma jannibna ashShaitan, wa Jannib
ash-Shaitana ma razaqtana, Satan would never harm that child, should it be
ordained that they will have one. (Because of that sleep).
Protection Through Trust in Allah
Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says that is: when he leaves his house 'In the Name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, there is no might or power except by Allah (Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, la awla wa la quwwata illa billah) it will be said to him: 'You have been sufficed and protected, and Shaitan will become distant from him".
